RAILDATE: the weekly newsletter of the Hursley Park Model Railway Society: http://www.ibmhursleyclub.org.uk/ss/hpmrs/

ANDOVER-REDBRIDGE

Every November, Kevin Robertson gives a talk at Winchester Library (on Jewry Street) - this year his subject is "The Sprat and Winkle Line", and the talk takes place on Wednesday 3rd November at 7.30pm.

Admission is by ticket only, and these are available from the Library in advance. (It might be a bit early, but it's worth enquiring to see if they're available yet - this event is always fully booked, and I would expect tickets for this talk to go very quickly.)

Refreshments will be available, and there will also be a selection of books on sale.

Paul Bartlett's Fotopic Updates

Its the summer so uploads are slow - I'm also away from home a great deal and please don't expect much new during August - although I am working on a big collection of the BR built LNER steel open merchandise wagons. So updates since I last sent one of these are:

VEA Vanwide munitions vans - 28 http://gallery6801.fotopic.net/c240684.html I read a model is coming for these - this shows choice of liveries. Each batch had differences when released and then there were other paint jobs. Also note they were used very widely for military traffic and had varying warning stickers.

Slope sided mineral wagon - 12 http://gallery6801.fotopic.net/c239886.html Prompted by a lack of understanding of how early these wagons went out of use. Inside view of pressed door is unusual - advantage of a damaged wagon.

Algeco lagged chemical tank wagons - 11 http://gallery6801.fotopic.net/c229890.html

STS lagged chemical tank wagons - 34 http://gallery6801.fotopic.net/c228781.html I just like these lagged tanks - plenty of detail differences as designs came out at varying times.

Lowmac MS/WP/ISO diagram 2/253 - 18 http://gallery6801.fotopic.net/c228657.html At the request of a kit manufacturer - watch this space? But don't hold your breath!

BR Walrus bogie ballast hopper - 9 photographs http://gallery6801.fotopic.net/c227940.html At the request of a kit manufacturer - watch this space? But don't hold your breath

The August edition of Model Railways On-Line Magazine is now available to download. Please note that the website address has been changed. The magazine may now be downloaded from:

http://www.mrol.gppsoftware.com

The old address will remain valid for the time being.

This edition features 'Ashwood Dale', an EM gauge layout based on the Midland Railway in Derbyshire constructed by Rob Lees. Rob is the Membership Secretary of the British Railway Modellers of Australia whose website can be found at http://www.brma.asn.au

If anyone has any difficulty downloading the magazine please contact either Graham Plowman or myself for assistance.

We would also welcome your feed-back about the Magazine. We have plenty of ideas for future articles but would still be pleased to receive suggestions. We would be pleased to publish your letters in our 'Letters to the Editor' section if you wish to write to us about any subject of interest to our readers and we would, of course, very much appreciate receiving any articles for publication.

Please tell your friends about Model Railways On-Line Magazine and encourage them to register their interest on our website.
