RAILDATE: the weekly newsletter of the Hursley Park Model Railway Society: http://www.ibmhursleyclub.org.uk/ss/hpmrs/
There will be no RAILDATE next week. Next issue 18th April.
As most of you know, after the internal version of RAILDATE has been sent to HPMRS members, I send out this external version to an ever-increasing list of subscribers around the workd. Up until now, I have maintained my own distribution list, but people change email addresses so I have to change the list, and then others change and don't tell me so I get "bounce" messages that need sorting out. So, in order to reduce that overhead, I've created a Yahoo list for new external subscribers. It is not a discussion list - only I can post to it, and it then simply distributes RAILDATE to whoever is a member.
So - if you know anyone who would appreciate seeing RAILDATE every week, please point them to: http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/RAILDATE/ where they can sign up for themselves. (I'm not proposing to move the existing distribution list to Yahoo - this is just for new subscribers.)
More news from Ralph Rawlinson about the Meridian TV series "Along These Lines". Because of the Grand Prix on Sunday 6th April (which appears to be in the morning!) the first programme will now be transmitted on the following Sunday with the IOW episode now not planned until 15th June. The revised schedule is:
Episode 1: Castleman's Corkscrew 13th April Episode 2: Longmoor Military Railway 20th April Episode 3: Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway 27th April Episode 4: The Hawkhurst Branch 04th May Episode 5: Meon Valley Railway 11th May Episode 6: East Kent Light Railway 18th May Episode 7: Sprat & Winkle 25th May Episode 8: Isle of Wight 15th June
There is no guarantee the schedule won't change again...
North Road Museum, together with the Ken Hoole Study Centre, will reopen for business this Saturday, the 5th April. http://www.drcm.org.uk/
