Lampeter History Society has created a new local history museum housed in the Old Porters Lodge of the University of Wales, Trinity St David, Lampeter Campus.  It is currently holding an exhibition to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the last passenger train leaving Lampeter in 1965.  The exhibition will be on show until August 2015.  Admission is free.  Opening hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, 1000–1600.

Following on from last weeks picture of the Sardinian “wye”, Maurice Hopper writes...
Another passenger only line with a “wye” is seen here in the South Tirol on the Venosta Valley line - a positive railway and community development by a regional government
The “wye” at the western terminal at Mals has been kept for the running of steam specials, and can be seen on Bing maps
A few clicks and a switch to aerial will bring up the “wye” filled in with car park, bus and train depots - a picture of part of the “wye” can be seen here
