Today marks the 100th anniversary of Britain's worst rail disaster at Quintinshill.  Raildate is delighted to have been given access to a pocket book found by George Moffat in his grandmother's effects, which contains a poem written by his grandfather, Private Thomas Derry. Private Derry was in the 1st Battalion, Royal Scots, at the time of the disaster, but was not involved in the accident.  You can see the pages of the notebook, together with a transcription of the poem on the Kestrel Railway Books website:
